Caribbean Yacht Charter-USVI-BVI

BVI Vacation

Trunk Bay, St. John
The United States Virgin Islands consisting of St. Thomas, St. Croix, and St. John, is the most popular tourist destination in the entire Chain for a Caribbean yacht charter.
No where else in the Caribbean offers such a good vacation value as the U.S. Virgin Islands. Here you will find beaches, National Parks, duty-free shopping, campgrounds, hiking, kayaking, ecological tours, world-class scuba diving, superb sailing, tropical forests, local craftsmen, island art, sunbathing, fine dining, nightlife. All of this within easy access from any major airport.
The long-standing and enviable international reputation of the U.S. and British Virgin Islands is not based solely on the pristine beaches, warm weather, and crystal-clear waters — they’re also the most culturally diverse, ethnically rich, and artistically vibrant society in the tropics. The biggest asset is the sun-kissed people of the islands. The residents are island-spiced, friendly and quick to smile. Contemporary Virgin Islanders are literally from everywhere. The natives are as diverse as the peaceful Arawak and fierce Carib Indians—and as culturally rich as the peoples of Africa, England, Holland, Denmark, Spain, France, India and the United States. Whether you choose to spend your time in the USVI or BVI, your visit will be a delight.
Itinerary: The British Virgin Islands
Renowned for sheltered cruising and year-round excellent weather, The British Virgin Islands are considered by many to be the most popular cruising grounds in the world for a Caribbean yacht charter. The BVI’s are blessed with beautiful anchorages and quintessentially Caribbean blue waters. From world class diving to fabulous snorkeling, island hopping, beach combing or just relaxing and enjoying the spectacular sunsets… there’s something to please everyone.
Day 1- Board in Roadtown, Tortola and set sail for Norman Island, the inspiration for Robert Lewis Stevenson’s famous novel, “Treasure Island”. Who knows, maybe you’ll find some treasure of your own as you snorkel the Caves. Inside the anchorage known as The Bight, there is a floating bar and restaurant and also a new one ashore way up in The Bight at the head of the Bay.
Day 2- After a scrumptious breakfast, a short dinghy trip takes you out to The Indians for a delightful snorkel or scuba dive (if your vessel is not equipped for scuba, arrangements are made for rendezvous diving throughout the islands with a local dive shop). Following a lunch stop at Peter Island, head up to Sir Francis Drake Channel to Salt Island. Here you can dive or snorkel the Wreck of the Rhone, famous for its part in the movie, “The Deep” and acclaimed as the best wreck dive in the Caribbean. Or, you can just relax on the yacht or visit Salt Island.

The Baths, Virgin Gorda (BVI)
Day 3- The BVI’s are perhaps best recognized for the Baths, a unique formation of large boulders glittering the beach along the southern tip of Virgin Gorda. You can explore the many caverns and grottos either by foot or by snorkeling into them. In the afternoon, head on down to North Sound, the BVI’s favorite playground. The protected waters of a Caribbean yacht charter lends itself to every water sport imaginable… windsurf, waterski, kayak, play volleyball on the beach.
Day 4- Venture out into Eustatia Sound, where the Atlantic meets the Caribbean. The water is crystal clear and teaming with tropical fish and reef life just waiting for you to explore. Rendezvous at the Bitter End for a smooth rum punch and to listen to the island beat of the steel pan band.

Cat Zingara
Day 5- If the weather is settled and the draft (depth) of your vessel allows, partake in an adventurous cruise to Anegada, a flat coral atoll completely surrounded by reef. Many ships have been lost on the reef, providing an underwater paradise for scuba divers and snorkelers alike. Anegada is surrounded by beautiful fish and is renowned for the best grilled lobsters in the Caribbean.
Day 6- Sail to Marina Cay… with its brightly colored villas and tropical flowers; it is undoubtedly one of the most the most spectacular little island resorts in the BVI’s. The scuba diving at Diamond Reef is some of the best to be found anywhere, and the perfect spot for a night dive right off the transom.
Day 7- Weigh anchor and head for Jost Van Dyke… the beach bar capital of the islands. Anchor at Sandy Cay for lunch and kayak to shore and explore the island. Dive at Green Cay and don’t miss the entertainment at Foxy’s in Great Harbor, Jost Van Dyke or the Soggy Dollar Bar in White Bay.
Day 8- Enjoy the sunrise over the hills at Soper’s Hole and take in an early, morning swim or snorkel before heading over to West End, Tortola to disembark the yacht around noon for the scenic taxi ride to Beef Island Airport on the East End of Tortola, BVI.
*** For charters less than 7 nights, it is still possible to visit many of these places mentioned above. Please note that the use of the yachts waverunner’s, jet ski’s and other personal watercraft are banned in the BVI and in many spots in the USVI.
